Inversion Exploration Part 1: Shoulderstand

Join us for an exploration of the "Queen of Asanas" - Salamba Sarvangasana! BKS and Geeta Iyengar describe Sarvangasana as a pose that is a "boon to humanity," soothing to the nervous system and developing patience.  

We will explore these qualities as we break down the actions of Sarvangasana through preparatory poses that build strength, flexibility, and stability.

Our expert instructor, Amy Stewart, will share alignment tips and tricks to help us get set and lift off the ground. For yogis who want to go deeper, we’ll practice variations to take off and soar. Truly something for every body!

This FOUNDATIONAL inversion workshop is suitable for students new to yoga, as well as for yogis who want a challenge in a supportive studio environment.

NOTE: Headstand (Sirsasana) is a complementary posture to Shoulderstand and will be taught in an Inversion Exploration Part 2 workshop. Stay tuned.
