Exploring the Kosas through Asana

Guest CIYT Level 3 senior teacher Mary Reilly returns to Yoga Cville with a class for all-levels.

One of the healing aspects of yoga is harmonizing and balancing the kosas, the five layers of being, ranging from the anatomical body, the energetic body, the mental body, the intellectual body and finally the bliss or soulful body. 

Through the asanas in this session, we will weave in the qualities of the first two kosas, stability and vitality and aim for the experience of the third kosa, clarity. The last thirty minutes of our time together will be dedicated to Pranayama to integrate the gifts of yoga.

Alternatives will be offered for varied levels of experience and ability, but 6 months of Iyengar yoga is recommended.
